The contract between you and Compass. We've tried to keep it short and human-readable. Where the law forces formality, it gets formal.

The short version. If you sign up for Compass, you agree not to misuse it, you understand it isn't legal advice, you'll pay for the plan you choose, and you can cancel any time. We try to keep the Service running well, but no software is perfect, and we limit our liability accordingly. Disputes go to arbitration in Delaware.
These Terms are an agreement between you and Compass Family App LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Compass," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Compass is a software product that helps users analyze, draft, and document communications related to family-court and high-conflict co-parenting contexts. The Service includes the website at compassfamily.app, the application at app.compassfamily.app, and any features we add over time.
We may modify, add, or remove features at any time. If we materially reduce paid functionality, we'll give you notice and a pro-rated refund option.
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract. You may not use Compass if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
One account per person. You may not share an account or transfer it without our written consent.

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.
You own the content you submit. You grant us a limited license to process it solely to operate the Service for you. We do not use your content to train AI models, market to you, or share with third parties beyond the operational vendors listed in our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit and for ensuring you have the right to submit it.
Plans. Compass is offered on monthly and annual subscription plans. Pricing is shown on the pricing page at the time of purchase.
Billing. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the next billing date. We process payments via Stripe.
Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from account settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access through the end of the period you've already paid for.
Refunds. If you cancel within 7 days of your first paid charge and the Service genuinely didn't work for you, email us and we'll refund. After that initial window, we don't refund partial periods.
Price changes. We won't change the price of an active subscription without 30 days' notice. If you don't agree to a price change, you can cancel and your existing rate remains in effect through the end of the period.
Compass, the underlying software, our prompt engineering, and our written frameworks are the property of Compass Family App LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and trade secret law. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.
Compass is not a law firm. The Service does not constitute legal advice. No attorney-client relationship is formed by using the Service. Output from the AI is informational only and may be incorrect or incomplete. Always consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction for advice on your specific situation.
Compass is not a healthcare provider. The Service does not provide therapy, counseling, or psychiatric assessment. If you are in crisis, call 911 or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.
The Service uses large language models to generate analyses and drafts. AI output:
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compass and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid Compass in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Compass from any claim, demand, or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, (b) content you submit, or (c) your violation of any third-party right.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if your account becomes the subject of fraud or abuse claims, or if we are legally required to do so. We will provide notice except where doing so would compromise an investigation or expose us to liability.
Any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service shall first be addressed by good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, the dispute shall be resolved by binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Each party bears its own costs. You and Compass each waive any right to a jury trial or class action.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for violations of intellectual property rights.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Venue for any non-arbitrable matter is the state and federal courts located in Wilmington, Delaware.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after that constitutes acceptance.
